What does the Parvovirus rash look and feel like?

Just wondering as DS had redish cheeks-looks a bit spotty but his skin is completely smooth. Ha has a bit of a cold but is very well, does the parvo rash feel rough to the touch?

When my children had it, it looked and felt like sunburn, so mostly smooth

Just a bit concerned cos have just found out that I'm pregnant and will have to go and get titre levels checked if it is Parvo.

Best to get it checked out then.

Last time I went to the Drs with suspected Parvo with DS, the dr was unsure, said it was either parvo or tonsilitis, he wasn't sure which!

I'll ring him in the morning, it might be nothing but theres no point in taking a risk. Did you ever get parvo yourself MaryBS?

No, never. Just the kids!

When my DD had parvovirus it was a lacy red rash - the skin was smooth and red, but the edges of it looked like delicate lace.

It would come and go in the heat (she had it in the summer).

"Slapped cheek" is a flushed , almost sunburnt look on the face rather liek teething, then a more mottled rash on the body and limbs and cold symptoms. Scarlet fever/strep throat rash is rough to touch usually with a high temp and sore throat, can cause sickness too.

Hmm...the rash looks just a bit mottled on his face and none on the body at all. it had almost disappeared before bedtime. How long does it usually take to go away?

iirc it comes and goes for a week or more. ds was quite unwell with it even before the rash appeared.

My DD had it for weeks and weeks, but she wasn't unwell with it.
