It has just been on the radio that you should never give ordinary stuff (ie not specfically for kids) to children inder the age of 6 - and not at all for a cough or cold if you can help it.

just thought I'd mention it

I always thought they couldn't have the ordinary stuff until they were 12

I never bother now any way, never noticed any difference when I did.

I do try to get them to have some honey and lemon in warm water if they have a bad cough though, that seems to help.

Tixylix used to send my DS hyper.

And I would only give them the ones for children anyway.
Are they seriously saying that people out there would give under 6's the adult strength stuff?

A spoonful of honey!

As I said on the other thread, lots of steam and a hot honey/lemon drink is just as effective as any of these medicines.

Deffo honey. Some people are obviously giving it to them!
