giving up smoking with champix-are these feelings normal?

My hubby has been taking champix tablets for 10 days to give up his 25 a day smoking habit (smoked for nearly 20yrs). He has cut out the cigarettes completely in the last day or so, and is complaining of extreme tiredness. At the same time he has more headaches (not affecting his vision)and just feels a bit odd-is this the effect of not having nicotine?? It is wonderful that he is giving up so I want to encourage him to continue, but he feels weird. Anyone else had this experience, with or without champix?

Yes, don't know about the tablets but giving up in itself can make you feel quite odd for a while - spaced out, headachey and strange dreams. The tablets will probably have a list of side effects on the box as well won't they?

Anyway, good luck to him. It's so worth it to be free of the evil weed. He'll soon start to feel the benefit and will have loads more energy.

My DH had exactly the same thing. Hes taken himself off of them though and has started smoking again. . It was the dreams he found the worse.
