I had physio after thrid degree tear. Involved an internal feel about then some contraption attached to a computer and inserted into me for me to do pelvic contractions which drew lines on a screen. I had some later physio after my second child-involved an internal feel about and then advice on exercises!

That was a few years ago now

If the physiotherapist is properly qualified in women's health then it should definitely involve an internal exam and an ultrasound to measure how strong your pelvic floor contractions are.

TBH, if you have real pelvic floor issues then you need a specialist. Otherwise, if it's just pants on and some general chat about pelvic floor exercises it's probably not going to be that effective.
