my leg is soo itchy!

My legs are always dry but lately they have been so itchy i've scratched til they have bled. Its the right leg in particular it looks horrible. can anyone recomend anything, i've tried a few creams and moisturisers.

My calves get like this in winter - think it's from being wrapped up in socks and boots.

Your gp would probably give you hydrocortisones for eczema.

Have you not been drinking enough water? This can make itchy legs.

GP recommended Doublebase (on prescription) for DS's eczema and I have now started buying it for myself because I think it's good. If I don't moisturise in winter, I end up in same situation as you sound to be in (my dry skin develops into eczema). Other brands I've liked are aveeno cream and I just got a body cream called A-derma (I think) because I had some free samples and it was really good. And Neal's Yard baby barrier is fab. I think it's just trial and error and some creams smell pretty gross to me, even if they do a good job.

Trixera by A-Derma is a fabulous cream for very dry skin and eczema. There is a soothing bath oil by the same name that people tell me is very effective for immediate relief from itching.
