CIN III, HPV 16 - successful LEEP in Oct 2005 - what are the chances of recurrence?

I've been pregant and or breastfeeding since the LEEP (2 gorgeous children) so my immune system is probably not as good as it could be. Waiting for the results of my last smear (4 weeks ago) but have got myself in to a bit of a stress about the whole thing and have convinced myself of the worst. I THINK I remember my gynae saying there is a 95% chance of no recurrence following a successful LEEP.

Can anyone calm me down?

I remember the 95% odds as well.

I had LEEP in 2003. Several smears and one DD later, all is normal.

I'm sure you're fine.

Thank you for replying and with such a positive one at that! I am doing the cardinal sin of googling....

been there, done that. Feel for you
and stupidly haven't had a smear for 6 years - like you had two more children. Got it booked for a week on tues. Have also pretty much planned my funeral. oh - and wiped my laptop

Very well done for getting it booked though - I only forced myself remembered this time because they've started putting adverts on the back of buses.

Is it true that giving birth vaginally is the equivalent of a LEEP in that your cervix gets a damn good polish? That's what I'm hoping anyway....
