hmm 2 weeks does seem quite a long time, but then if it was a really big filling they do sometimes take time to settle down, if it's near the nerve.

why not ring the dentist and see what they say?

If it's sensitive to hot and cold can you try rubbing sensodyne toothpaste on your gums around it for a few days.

I had a largish filling about 3 weeks ago, it was very sensitive to cold and also sore to chew on. It's now nearly back to normal but not quite - maybe give it another week or two, then contact dentist. Don't want to rush back if you needed 6 valium!!

I'd phone the dentist - I had a large one done and it took a few weeks to calm down .

If something is stuck there it will be inflaming the gum.

This can never be good, you need a quick emergency appt and he will get out the bit that's causing the trouble. In the meantime can you get it out yourself?

Be gentle

and use warm salt water rinses twice/three times a day to calm the gum down.

Do not leave it!!!

it will just get worse.

Go ASAP and it will be a big relief.
