Is there a tummy bug going around with the only or main symptom being really obnoxious farts?

Really, really bad farts. Worse than Guinness farts, much worse. DH was clearing the room with his farts on Sunday and Monday, but, you know, he's a man so I put it down to bad food and general annoying male-ness. But yesterday and today, rather embarassingly, I'm doing exactly the same farts. I know that it's not my diet or booze so I can't think what else it could be.

Is this the tummy bug that dares not speak it's name? People will admit to their family coming down with vomitting and diarrhea but I've never heard anyone say they've all come down with severe farting.

Me and my DP had terrible smelly farts on Saturday, might have been the mushy peas we had with out fish and chips though the night before

To quote Noel Coward: 'How unlike the home life of our own dear Queen.'

This thread is explaining a lot about the last few days in our house.

Britain has been hit by a putrid fart virus. Oh no!

Yes we all had it before xmas...DS 2 is known for particularly pungent and powerful farts at the best of times. I agree with slightly mad we had "slightly squirty bowel movements" too

Probably wouldnt advise going anywhere quiet with good acoustics (church/museum/library) whilst under its clutches!

our farty bug has developed too - dd2 puked on Friday and had the farts. Dh and I over the weekend had the farts and the shits. Today dd1 was puking and has an incredibly high temperature - makes the farty bit look quite innocent now.

Yup, it's been in Glasgow too. Much flapping of duvet (much regretted; some things are best unflapped!)
