Why have I developed excema at 38?

I had a really bad viral cold about 2 months ago and when it finally cleard up I've now got excema all over my legs, top of my arms and side of breasts. I've never had this before, can anyone tell me what's going on?
I have been to doctors who gave me fucibet (?)cream, a steriod and antibiotic cream. Doesn't seem to help though. BTW the rash isn't itchy, just very unsightly

Do you have the rash all the time or only from time to time?, try to keep an eye on what you may have changed that may be causing it (change of diet, new detergent, a diferent soap, stress, etc.)

I had eczema as a child but never as an adult until I was very stressed for a time in my late 20s. Could that be a factor for you? For me, as the stress decreased the eczema cleared up.

At the age of 35 I have developed excema, due to stress and using a different soap as well as an antibacterial handwash.
In the end I went to an aromatherapist who gave me a blend to clear it up and I swapped shower gel etc, apparently its because everything has so much alcohol in it these days!!

It might be stress. I had a really sore throat after the virus too and I don't know if it's all related. But I haven't eaten anything new and I use diffrernt soap powder all the time depending on what's in offer in Asda!

A few months ago I developed excema all over my body, it was ugly and getting into a bath made me feel like my skin was being torn off and burnt. (no lie!)
I tried the steroid based creams, Aqueous cream all the ones the doctors offered but none of them worked. I even had oilatum in my bath, but alas nothing.
So I bought Nutregena for extra dry skin, within a week my rash was gone and now my skin is as smooth as a babies bottom.
Try it I used to be a palmers cocoa butter loyal user but now I use nutregena on the whole family cause I love it so much

I've had eczema about 3 times in my life - all after times of intense stress (A levels, moving house etc). I would really recommend trying a homeopath to deal with the root cause - the virus may have been down to the same thing. Worked for me, and far less damaging that steroid creams etc.

I'll try nutragena tomorrow, the doctors cream isn't making a bit of difference.
One thing confusing me-if it is excema why isn't it itchy?
