When my DH was done hardly had enoug time to read one page of my book before he was out. He could walk OK and only had one day off work. It didnt seem to be very painful for him.
I asked DH "what happens if he wakes up in the morning after with a hard on?" and he said... "Make the most of it"

SulliedYouth · 03/02/2009 20:43

OH MY GOD SO SORRY I read it wrong! thought you were on about the snip.
Please scratch post.

BCNS · 03/02/2009 20:44

DH had it done as an adult.. he says..normally takes about 30 mins, will be awake after an hour. yes he will be able to walk but with a little bit of a leggy gait and he wont wake up with a hard on.

Apparently (DH says) first time you endulge after the op he will last about 22 seconds cos its all very sensitive, but you get used to it.
HTH

SulliedYouth · 03/02/2009 20:49

blushingm · 03/02/2009 20:50

wow sulliedyouth - was thinking your dh was well hard ..........wrong choice of word but you know what i mean

BCNS what about the couple of days later re the hard on? would you mind asking DH - also what was the recovery like?

DP says:

You will wake up, will be shaved and bathed in iodine, will hurt like fuck and he had to have a box type thing over his crotch to ensure it didn't get infection. You will be able to walk but it will be painful and you won't get a hard on the next morning! Pain prevents that.

This was about 15 yrs ago when DP was a teen so may not be the same and he wasn't sexually active at the time so not sure about sex etc.

BCNS · 03/02/2009 20:59

Recovery was ok, about six or seven days for stitches to dissolve then absolutely fine to continue with your nuptuals.

First couple of days is really painful and he will only want to lie down with nothing on if you know what i mean. gets easier after that just a bit niggly with the stitches. Peeing etc is no problem at all, no pain. There wont be any morning glories lol the pain will knock it down as soon as it rises

----

DH just wrote that bit for you

blushingm · 03/02/2009 21:08

BCNS · 03/02/2009 21:13

oooh from my POV.. it is much much better after ..

BlueSapphire77 · 03/02/2009 21:32

PMSFL @ leggy gait.. he'll be walking like he's shat himself and..'he won't have a hard on.'
Thats a very definitive 'Trust..He will be too scared to have a hard on'

Bless..wishing him a speedy recovery

Lol @ SY

blushingm · 03/02/2009 21:35

mummylin2495 · 03/02/2009 22:13

do you mean and id did all that work for nothing Bm ?

policywonk · 03/02/2009 22:18

A friend of mine had this done recently as day surgery - he was conscious throughout and said he heard noises he never wants to hear again.

He was also sent home wearing a sanitary towel.

He had bought himself the DVD of Mulholland Drive (I think it was) in advance, and said that he really wished he hadn't watched it as the hot girl-on-girl action was extremely unhelpful.

However he did seem to recover very quickly and said the pain relief he was given was pretty effective.

blushingm · 04/02/2009 09:16

mummylin - you and id did a great job with the equipment you had

policy - he's opted for a GA but it will still be just a day thing

pmsl at the sanitary towel - he'll get his own back on me as after both cs i had to wear his pants!!

I will tell him avoid all movies with any sort of sexual reference too - thanks for the tip

hi everyone - he's had it done but he's still in A LOT of pain and it's still oozing blood - sorry it TMI. Is this normal. I said he should see a doc but her says no. He can hardly walk

it's looks like a cocktail sausage wrapped in bacon and is v swollen

the hospital were useless - he didn't even have a bed when he was there, there is no follow up appointment and on the advice they'd scribbled out 'A district nurse will visit you tomorrow' and so we were leftg with no advice at all

candyheartsandchocolates · 09/02/2009 10:53

oh bless him
makes my eyes water
has he got some painkillers?
when did he have it done?

blushingm · 09/02/2009 11:03

Hi candy. He's got co-codamol and voltorol. They only gave him 3 days worth of co-codamol so i've been to boots to get more. They are helping but he's still in quite a lot of pain - i don't think he can take anything else can he? oh and arnica too

He had it done last wednesday (4th). When he first got home he took off his trousers and was stading in a puddle of blood

OP posts:
candyheartsandchocolates · 09/02/2009 11:13

blushingm · 09/02/2009 13:24

OP posts:
blushingm · 10/02/2009 18:10

well we went to the gp.......he said 'ooh that doesn't look right....gave him anti biotics called the urologist and go back friday - if it's no better it's back to hospital

i can't believe it - he has been so careful to keep it clean etc

OP posts:
blushingm · 11/02/2009 16:36
