feel a bit panicky, spotting after sex.........

Hi everyone

just want a few words of advice/reassurance really. I sometimes get spotting after sex and the doctor has now booked me in for a smear (though not for 2 weeks and i'm stewing on it a bit, no, a lot)
The spotting isn't all the time and I think it is related to positions if you know what I mean. I just keep fearing the worse and getting really panicky. My doc is really quiet and doesn't give much away, but I just wanted her to say "oh don't worry love I can see into the future and you're fine" alas, she didn't.
I may be getting all panicky over nothing, but i've got to wait a couple of weeks for the smear, then the results a few weeks after that.

Anybody had any experience of this. I don't really want to moan at my DH about it, he thinks I worry about everything and I don't think he'll take me seriously.

Hi - I get this occasionally and got told its was related to excess cells on the cervix. I bleed every time i have a smear test as well.

Google Cervical Erosion- nothing serious- but you may need aminor op if it is bothersome. Not related to cancer- so don't worry.

Yes, and I had to have a colposcopy, but everything was fine in the end.
It is scary though, the waiting.

thank goodness, my mind is going crazy here. I'm imagining not seeing the kids grow up and everything. I know i'm probably getting a bit carried away, but the trouble is, I can't see up there!! so all i've got to go on is my imagination!
