What gift do I get for a terminally ill friend

My DH uncle has just been diagnosed with cancer and doesn't have much time left. We don't see him that often, maybe only at social gatherings.

Anyway my DH is keen to visit him and I'm wondering what we should take with us. Perhaps something for his wife.
