Over the past few weeks a couple people have comented on how much weight i have lost . I hadn't really noticed as i wear baggy clothes and never really weigh myself, Yesterday i thought it was time for some new clothes and went shopping, this was the first time in months i had really looked at myself in the mirror (i don't have a full length mirror at home) and realised my fat tummy had gone and my bum has shrunk . I have gone from a size 14 to a loose fitting 12.

I have been ill over christmas but still managed to eat like a horse, i thought after giving up work 4 months ago i would put on weight not loose it. Should i be worried? I have had a lot of stomach pains and upset stomach lately but i am still eating a lot of rubish.

I would be happy but tempted to go to the doctors.

Uh oh! I had this last year. For a long time I put down to doing a lot more running. I also had stomach pains and upset stomachs a lot. In the end I cut out wheat for a while. I have had a minor problem with gluten before. It got better within a week or so and I was able to go back to wheat after about a month. Been OK since. There seems to be a stress component to this flaring up for me. Are you under stress?

OrmaIrian- i have tried cutting out wheat before as i had bad eczma as well as bloating, it did help but i missed bread so much i didn't stick to it . I am also stressed at the momment, i am having councelling for anxiety so it could be linked to that also.

Perhaps you could try it for a while. I missed bread but as I've done low-carb diets before it wasn't such a hardship. Just to see if that is the problem.

Unless you are enjoying the effortless weightloss . I did but not the stomach cramps and having to run to the loo all the time....

I do like the weight loss but im sure i could find another way of keeping slim , the stomach cramps have been worse in the last week (mainly after i have eaten or first thing in the morning), i think i will try and cut down on wheat.

You shouldn't have tummy pains and diarrhea normally. Is the pain or your bowel movements changing? Are you getting other symptoms like tiredness? I think you should go to the doc, just in case.

You really ought to check out any unexplained weight loss with a GP.

Yes the pain and bowel movements are changing from one extreme to the other. I thought possible IBS as it runs in my family. I feel exhausted even though im not realy doing much other that sitting on MN and normal house work etc.
