does anyone know anything about links between febrile convulsions, food intolerance and epilepsy?

thanks both, nightcat - those links are really interesting and spot on topic. having said that I can't properly understand them...but they clearly confirm the possibility of these things all being linked. I just hope my friend's consultant is fully on the ball.

Yes, keto is hard and you need appoinments & checks.
Riven, just curious, does keto include or exclude gluten? For my ds gluten-free was enough (he had frequent tremors but no full blown seizures). Some neuro research says that gluten free can control epilepsy in early stages, but not later if damage is too extensive.
I am in touch with keto charity, MF(are you?) as I find dietary approach to neurological problems fascinating after our positive experience.
