I have been researching alternative remedies and have come across manuka honey (UMF 10+) in place of antibiotics for certain infections and for boosting immune system.

Anyone tried it? And what dose?

My mother swears by it for everything. I think there was some study that proved it worked for stomach problems.

I give ds a spoonful with a slice of raw garlic in it, every day.

The important thing is never to heat it - take if off the spoon. Any heat will destroy the anti-viral/anti-bacterial element. It works really well for sore throats and it does kill Helicobacter Pylori (which causes stomach ulcers). It is also very healing on ulcers of any kind.

Be very, very careful.

Never use it on small children - Botulinum risk.

Never use it if you are diabetic - too much sugar
