I had the op two weeks ago and I'm wondering what other peoples recovery was like - so far, it's hell!

I havent had the op but have been diagnosed with prolapse. The consul has recommended a hysterectomy and some sort of repair. I have been reluctant to go ahead as the recovery terrifies me as I like to be active and exerxise 3 times a week,no one to help with kids etc. How has it been?

Boysgalore, I'll be honest, the recovery has been very painful - and slow. I'm only just starting to feel human and I had it done on the 5th, welcome to 2009 eh! I too have two children, the youngest just 2 so it has been tough as you can't lift for around 6 weeks. I too liked to be active and used to go to the 5 times a weeks so I'm really stuggling on that front too. But, I'm hoping it will be all worth it. You do need full time help. DH has been off work and when he has to go out friends come over. Good luck, and take all the painkillers they throw at you!

OH,I think I will put it off as long as I can. I can tolerate things as they are at the mo but sometimes it bothers me more than others. If there was an easy option I would have it done in a flash. I am sure it will be worth it in the end. Good Luck. xx
