i have had pain in my pubic bone for the past few days and just thought it was ovulation pains, but today it is really bad. On wednesday I was late for an appointment and i ran for maybe 3 mins, all i felt was unfit!! but that night the pain started. I am really struggling to play with me wee boy on the floor and lifting him up is pretty sore. I had a section and do get the odd niggle, but that i know is normal. Im not carrying any extra weight (horray!!) so it's not that. I am just wondering is it possible to get post partum sepration after 7 months?? being a nurse my mind is doing overtime!!!

I'd pop to the GP and ask for an x-ray. Maybe the ligaments may not have lined up correctly in the the pubic symphysis at the front of the pelvis, they separate during the birth bt normally go back into place. They would be able to see misplacement on the x-ray if it is this.

Any chance you are pregnant again? I only ask as rumour has it that this is how Charlotte Church realised she was pregnant again, as her SPD had come back

Hi onlyaphase, it did cross my mind but im only two weeks after my last period. the thing is i didn't have spd when i was pregnanct, but i guess it could happen post partum!! scrooged, think i will pop in at see my gp for a check

I didn't have SPD but did have pain accross my pubic bone in the months after birth.

It was worst when I was still, especially standing still but also lying in certain positions.

I had an x-ray and everything was fine. I then got a referral to the physiotherapist. She concluded that it was actually a problem in my back and although it sounded odd, everthing she said fitted with my symptoms. It did all sort itself out.

thanks for that info maretta. Things seem a little less painful today so will see how it goes.

I've been having pain across my pubic bone for the last month, 2 months after birth, waking up early morning in agony and seems to be on one side more than the other. Symptoms a bit like SPD, better when I get up & go to the loo! Also coinciding with lots of wind! Dr doesnt seem to think its trapped wind.

Been tested for UTI, not pregnant, didnt have SPD when pregnant - back to doctors today. Could be similar to yours Maretta? How long did it take to sort itself out?

Thanks

SPD was my first thought too.

I had times where after having DS I would do something that would trigger it again (like your 3 mins running for example) . I had SPD whilst pregnant though.

I would get it checked out.

I had very mild spd towards the end of my pregnancy, but strangely after i had my baby it flared up terribly.
