could be a chest infection, could be pleurisy another kind of infection in the chest or you could have pulled a muscle with the hacking cough.
think its quite normal to feel so awful and washed out, but i think that you need to pop to the Docs to put your mind at rest and let him have a listen to your chest.
Antibiotics will help if you need them.

i do have a percription for penicillin from the gp in my bag coz i went to see him about my throat and he said give it a few days and if its no better then get the meds but my throat did get better and now my chest hurts,so im thinking maybe i should just go and get the perscription filled .
is that a bad idea ?

Antibiotics prescribed for sore tonsils won't necessarily help a chect infection if that's what you do have.

I think it might be worth getting your chest seen by the GP.

I'd go to the GP again. I had a smilar thing last year, and it ended up going on for nearly four months until I saw a GP who took it seriously and referred me to the hospital chest clinic, where they found a shadow on my lung (I had thought I'd pulled a muscle through coughing). I had very vicious antibiotics for three weeks, which finally got rid of whatever it was.

I am not a keen taker of medicines, but I'm glad I took the antibiotics!
