Eleventh day of bleeding... should I be worried? (because I am)

Normally my cycle is 28-30 days, and periods last 5 days.

This month I got my period on day 25, and so far have been bleeding for 11 days.

I'm filling half a mooncup a day.

Should I bother a GP with this? Any ideas why it's happening, anyone?

I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks.

if it is unusual for you then get it checked out

LittlePeanut · 15/01/2009 21:22

Thanks ruby. I suppose I'm worried a visit to the GP might be a bit of an over-reaction. I just don't know why this might happen. It's never happened to me before.

I'd definately to to the doctor if it was me.

I had this once. It was nothing - I did go to the GP. Apparantly this happens sometimes to women - like a big clear out. I posted on here about it and lots of people had had the same. Obviously do go to the GP but try not to worry too much.

I would go to GP and get it checked out just in case.
It's probably just a freak period, but may be a symptom of something else.

Thanks for your replies. I posted this in chat as well, and someone suggested I did a pg test, in case it was a chemical preggnancy/ early miscarriage.

Took the test today and it is positive. i am still bleeding (day 12 now) so I guess this is what it is.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
