Why would fiberous food make me parp and have terrible bloating?

Is it normal? Is it just my body breaking it down as I have awful wind - sort of wind where it is best to stay at home really and a big fat blaoted belly!

Thought maybe of cutting wheat out of my diet but I don't want to be one of those over reactive people who cut things out of their diet willy nilly and claim to be intolerant and allergic to things!

So girls steer clear of me if I have been at the Honey Nut Shredded Wheat or wear a nose peg!

I've been the same for about 2 mths and am feeling v bleargh about it. Am on second bottle of super Gaviscon which is lifesaver....GP said I had irritated my stomach somehow and there was lots of liquid sloshing round. Am trying to eat more slowly but am just gluttonous. I'm not parping, but am burping like a newborn.

Oooohhhh very brave - DH is not allowed to eat chickpeas - he could be used as a weapon of mass destruction just eating a tub of houmous could wipe out most of East Anglia!

You have my sympathy.

Bucharest - have you eaten anything different to give you this reastion - mine isn't indigestion or heartburn just a swollen tummy and parps - thought I was bloody pregnant at one stage and was one of those dopy women who just thought I had a bit of bloating and ta da out pops a baby!

Blimey - maybe bake a cake for them each with a nose peg secreted in each one.

MC- no, I'm putting it down to eating far too quickly and gulping air in at the same time.
Also did the madwoman-paranoia-googling-terrible-diseases thing but have calmed down a bit now....
I was the same re thinking I was pg, in fact loads of people keep saying "ooooh sounds like you're pg" The fact that I'm almost 44 and have just had a 10 day period so am more likely to be menopausal doesn't quash the rumours....
