Urgent: Anyone know a good dentist in central London who takes NHS patients?

Hi everyone,

My name's Maria, I have a 5 month old little boy, so that means I'm exempt from paying dental fees until my boy is 1 year old. I had a bad accident last friday & among other things broke several teeth (& others are fractured). I do have a good dentist who I visit for clean-ups etc... but he doesn't take NHS patients. After my accident, I'll now be needing extensive- and EXPENSIVE!- dental treatment, so my GP advised that I find a good dentist who takes NHS patients. Wondered if any of you can recommend someone that you like & trust? I live in central London, I'm happy to travel within zones 1-2 but probably not further than that, since I need to recover from my accident as well...

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Maria - do you have any insurance that would cover your dental work since it is he result on a accident? Sometimes contents insurance covers these things. Or your car insurance if it was a car accident? Was the accident caused by anyone else?

if you live close to the Thameslink line (city, London Bridge, Blackfriars etc) or to Victoria (10 mins from Victoria) then there is a dentist right by Herne Hill Station that is very good and NHS. Half Moon Dental Centre

Thanks blu for your msg! No I don't have insurance... but I'll look into the dental centre you mentioned (I do live near Blackfriars yes).

Maria - I have just remembered that dental schools often take patients, too.I don't know which ones are in Central london, but you could look in yellow pages or google.

And i wonder if your GP might be able to recommend a good local NHS dentist?

There's the Streatham Dental Centre a couple minutes from Norbury station, and they are recruiting more NHS patients. Good and nice-looking dentists!

Norbury is 20 min from Victoria/London Bridge and has ramps to all platforms, no steps.

Actually I found out yesterday that I can be seen at the King's college dental clinic Which is where I first got treated after the accident. I'm very happy about this because it's a fantastic clinic. Many thanks for the info you gave me, though...
