Black spot thingies in my right eye...

I have whiplash and am on codeine (just in case it makes a difference).

I have little black spots in my vision on my right eye, they sort of move about like ink in water when I move my eye.

It isn't like pre-migraine spermy guys.

Should I be getting checked out???

Get them checked out, but they are probably harmless floaters in your eye. I get them from time to time, but I can't remember what the optician said they were.

Doctor or optician?

Would go to an Optician, they sound like floaters, especially if they are moving, which are completely harmless,

dh has had a couple of retinal detachments and the areas of vision affected with spots/dark areas didn't move.

always better to get things checked out, especially if you have had a recent injury.

I have these all the time and the technical term is floaters. Usually harmless but should be checked out (when accompanied by flashing lights can mean a detached retina). Doc or optician can check.

If you have whiplash then please get them checked out today by an optician, or if there is an eye dept at your local hosp give them a call. floaters are usually benign but given whiplash I really really think get it checked today.

(Cali, showers of moving floaters are a symptom of RD)

I'll go to the doctor today (they can refer me to the eye hospital)

Cool

cali · 13/01/2009 12:49

practically ignored my ophthalmology lectures as a student as I don't do eyes!!!

lol!!
I've had a fair bit of eye trouble and have been warned by hospital every time I see them about showers of floaters. Enough to turn a lady paranoid!
