Is this an ear infection? A throat infection? Or what?

I am so sore from me ear on my left side down to my throat. It has been getting worse over the last week. I inititally put it down to a cold I have that seems worse on that side. I assumed there was inflamation in the tube connecting it all. However, now I am beginning to wonder if it is infected as neurofen is not touching it.

I know you will be wondering why I just don't go to the doctor to get them to check it out, but I am mov ing house Friday, looking after my three kids, and snowed under with stuff to do - I just don't want to go unnecessarily. Also, I presume they would give antibiotics and last time I took some, ds3 who is breastfeeding reacted very badly.

Any ideas?

I think you arem going to have to let a doctor look in your ear and down your throat TBH.

I do feel for you though. It is such a hassle to try and get an appointment, and cope with everything else.

Is there anyone who could help?

Oh well, I will see how it is in the morning and then maybe call them. I can't go until Wednesday at the earliest though.
