LANISOH..the nipple cream in a purple tube. £10 a go but worth every penny.

Its pure lanolin and miracle stuff. I use it on lips and cracked fingers, cuticles and it heals them overnight.

My lips often feel dry wihtin half an hr of vaseline or lip balm but not wiht this.

My DS get sore lips and I always apply loads of vasaline with a cotton bud when he's asleep.. this always does the trick...

SlartyBartFast · 11/01/2009 21:23

dd has been having vaseline and in fact a cold sore cream too, she is permanently licking and picking at the area.. however i remember when she was a baby the midwife said the vaseline dried out their lips.
this thread has come at a good time
will try blisteze or any of theother suggestions.

As a child, my mum always put Fullers Earth Cream on my dry lips. Seemed to do the trick!

another vote for Lansinoh
Yes it is expensive but fantastic, I used it when I was bf all my children then kept the tube for when my lips get dry in winter.
You may even be able to get it on prescription for your dd, otherwise boots and mothercare stock it.

Ros3 · 11/01/2009 21:44

forgot to add it's pure lanolin so no preservatives. I promise you it will work.

UnfortunatelyMe · 11/01/2009 21:47

you know that bottom butter from waitrose, that works well on my dd whos dry lips spreads down her chin

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 11/01/2009 21:55

Sounds odd, but Sudocrem at night worked wonders for DD, used in conjunction with Vaseline during the day.

Have you tried Averno lip cream? Really good for me & my son. We are both excema sufferers. It's amazing. The moisturiser & shower oil are amazing too.
