1st period after birth - is this normal?

Ds is 10 months and am having extremely painful period cramps. First one since his birth. Is it normal to be in such agony?

I remember my HV saying that first period is usually particularly bad, so probably normal.

I would say not if you've not had this before.

Would get checked out by the GP, if it continues ask for a referral to a gynae.

I didn't experience this at all, but mine were back within six weeks off dd's birth. I would just have a little check up if I were you.
