Had op 5 wks 4 days ago and really feel well enough to drive. Do I have to ring my insurance people? I never told them I was pg in the first place... Thank you!

When I rang mine (Direct Line) they said they couldn't say and I needed to check with my GP. I knew she'd say 6 weeks- not a day less- and saw her at 5+ weeks. You have to be physically capable of stamping down on the brake pedal. Obviously it varies from person to person.

Thanks Catweazle! Will give them a buzz tomorrow.

mine said i could when ever i felt up to it,

no 6 weeks rule,

call and ask them

My insurance company said I could drive as long as my GP said I was fit to. I saw GP who just asked if I felt capable to drive and do an emergency stop. I said yes and that was it. I was driving 2 and a half weeks after the c-section and felt fine.

My insurance also said 'whenever my GP thought was suitable' (very nice lady on the phone said she wasn't really qualified to judge). Didn't bother till 6 week check as was feeling shit at the time.
