Anyone here with experience of Al Anon? Please come talk to me

I'm really interested to talk to anyone here who's been to Al Anon.

My dad (now passed away) was an alcoholic. I worry my DH is going down the same route and find myself getting upset when he drinks.

Have done lots of searching about Al Anon and felt it was probably the place for me.

I just called them up and had a nice chat with a lady from there. So now I'll go to meeting tomorrow night.

Feel a bit apprehensive about what's going to happen. The lady was lovely and said I didn't need to talk if I didn't want to. But all the same, feels a bit different and scary!

Can anyone share their experiences of Al Anon with me?

I have to say I only went once. I wanted someone to tell me my XDP had a drinking problem, when explaining how much he drank people told me it was a lot. I didn't feel I could talk, everyone was very friendly and kind, I wished I had given it more time but have moved on now. Good luck. x

Thanks Eve. So if you don't mind me asking, did you decide to move on after that one meeting?
