i know that its best to get your vitamins out of your diet. i think my kids get a balanced diet so supplements for them are unnecessary at best, and who knows what at worst.

are ANY supplements worth taking for women?
calcium for future bone health for eg
or magnesium for regulating monthly hormones
or collagen for skin hair and nails

or is all that stuff just a big con?

I think fish oils are worth taking. I take them and they really help my PMT and keeps my hair glossy and my swimming's improved.

I don't think so particularly. I take a vit B complex, but only because I was diagnosed with colitis and breast cancer last year. Whether it makes any difference is hard to tell.

I've heard good things about Evening Primrose Oil, but again I wouldn't know the difference. I also don't take it regularly.

If you think your diet is lacking or you are feeling off colour, it may be worth talking to your doctor. I asked my gp ages ago about taking industrial quantities of vit B and was told that it's not a very good idea as it can mask certain illnesses.
