Fliiping Carpal Tunnel Syndrome sucks! I had the steroid injections 5 weeks ago and after a day of soreness it was all fine and dandy but today i have been in sodding agony and dropping things left right and center again.

The doctor wanted to see me in 6 months time to see how i was doing so do i have to wait that long before going back or can i go back sooner to tell her the injection has basicly done naff all?

I hate CPTS it makes me feel so usless when i can't pick up my kids or play with them properly, and its such an annoying type of pain. PLus i keep forgetting and going to pick up a cup of tea or something and dropping it.

You need to go back, and get referred for surgery. And whilst you're waiting for that you need to get some splints which will help with the pain and numbness

I'm just wondering how i would cope with the after care of surgery, i have 2 very active little boys!

I tried splints for the first 'treatmetn' and they really didn't work.

Anyone had the surgey that can tell me about it and the aftercare?

My mum had both hands done at the same time a couple of years ago, and my aunt had one done a month ago. Recovery time was about two days, so not bad at all. Surgery was done under local anaesthetic - in and out in a couple of hours
