TMI here, but what could this discharge be?

Today I have noticed a very thick discharge which looks a bit like cottage cheese. (sorry I did warn it was probably TMI!) Had quite a lot of sex with DP (who I have been with over a year) over the weekend & put any feelings of discomfort down to that, but on noticing this discharge am now thinking I have some infection. Has anyone had similar? (have changed my name for this one!)

Thrush- def.

Was a thread about this a couple of days ago;

  • don't bath- shower *don't use bubble bath/shower gel/soap there *wear cotton undies and no tight trousers buy Canestan or Diflucan oral tablets and/or cream. *avoid sex til better!

"cottage cheese" discharge sounds to me like thrush. I could be wrong, but, I have had it only once and this is what the discharge was like.

I think it was cheaper at the time to get a prescription from the dr's rather than buy it over the counter at Boots.

Thrush

Pessary and cream works best to get rid of it

Thanks for the tips - wasn't sure what it was, but didn't think it was an STI as I don't think DP would be unfaithful. Had thrush years & years ago, but couldn't remember what the discharge looked like & was a bit panicked.
Best I make an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow then!

Had a bath tonight too, which probably hasn't helped!

Someone on here said to boil wash your affected knickers too, to stop it coming back. I am very grateful to whoever that was!

Thanks for that tip - I would never have thought to do that!

Pretty sure it is definitely thrush as was very itchy & uncomfortable last night & still am today. Boys are off to their dad's in a bit & I will take a trip to the chemist. Best I inform DP that he will need to treat himself as the symptoms started within 24 hours of us having sex. Looks like we will be behaving for new year!

Seems DP has already got it! He had to go to the pharmacy this morning & get something. I went earlier & was given a tablet, which I have now taken - hopefully it goes away soon!
