Posted 2 weeks ago about my dad having a bad accident, hes broken his humerous in 4 places. He has a cast on that he must keep very still (including his shoulders) as its working on gravity to pull the bones back straight. His hand that the cast is on is very very swollen and bruised (almost black) he says hes been told to expect this.

However his feet are also extreemly swollen and puffy which has only just started in the last few days. Any reason for this? Have tried googling but its just coming up with results for broken feet/signs an arm is broken. He has to remain upright at all times including sleeping, and he has been walking about the house, nothing really strenuous though.

hi
your father's feet could be swollen for a variety of reasons
it could be the general lack of mobility ie he is not moving around as much as he normally does
he could be sitting in the chair for longer periods,in which case it could be an idea for him to elevate his legs on a stool which will help the swelling
does the swelling reduce in the mornings after he has got up? i am assuming that he is going to bed to sleep and not sleeping in his chair.if he is sleeping in the chair try to get him to go to bed.
he could do exercises in flexing his feet and doing circles from his ankles which will help reduce the swelling
with a lack of mobility can come the problem of dvt, anyway i would however discuss this with his gp or better still get your dad to do this
hope this some help
