Help, 7yo ds has an itchy willy, is there anything we can do?

Is there? Dp suggested a shower and giving it a wash, which ds has done but it's still itching. Is there anything I can give him or put on it? Also, he can't retract his foreskin, is he supposed to be able to at his age? TIA for any advice. He's saying he won't be able to sleep it's bothering him so much, I'm feeling a bit worried.

Ekk, no I haven't got canestan, but my step sister round the corner might, I'll ring her. Thanks. He's had balanitis before, I don't think it's that, it looks different.

could it be balanitis? Ds2 had it, he was prescribed anti bitics which did the trick

sounds like it was the same thing my ss was complaining of a few months back and that turned out to be thrush. He had canesten to put on it - if I remember rightly, he was able to pull his foreskin back a bit and put the cream on, but TBO, I gibbed out of supervising that one and got my husband to help him instead.

Give him cranberry juice also, this helps to flush out any underlying infection and thrush

Thank you everyone. I think Sainsbury's pharmacy is still open so I'll send dp to get some or some advice. ds is saying it's still painful.

Canesten worked, thanks, I wouldn't have thought about it if it wasn't for you lot! Phew!
