I should preface this by saying thast about 4 yrears ago I was diagnosed as having a lump on my lung. At the time I was pregnant so dr did not wnt to do ct scan but monintored by measuring the growth and , after about 9 months of monitoring said he was sure it was just harmless tissue and said lumps can grow anywhere in our bodies and more often than not were not sinister.

Just feeling slightly nervous. For about 3 months now have had phlegmy feeling in chest ( not throat) although nothing comes up such that sometimes I'm aware that it is a bit difficult to breath properly. In last 3 weeks I've developed a cough that I can't shake and the phlegmy feeling is much more apparant.

I'm sure it will turn out to be nothing more than a persistenat winter cough and I'm sensible enough not to google as I know the perils of that , but still........

Has anyone every had a very persistent cough and phlegmy feeling and general breathlessness and been ok?

You know what you need to do - go to your GP and ask to be checked over.

Lisalisa,I had a similar thing a few months back.I had a cough for 3 months,my chest felt congested, but I couldn't shift anything.I had chest x rays which came back clear, but it still took over 3 months before it went away.

I'd still go & get checked over-once I'd had the xray, which they can normally do on a walk in basis-results within a week,I wasn't so bothered.
