Yes it could be.

notnowbernard · 15/12/2008 12:51

Yes, possibly

Start drinking cranberry now and maybe get some over-the-counter sachets just in case

MincePirateCat · 15/12/2008 12:53

so no need for gp visit? i thought cystitis was an infection of bladder?

Sounds like cystitis to me. I used to get it a lot. The best thing to do is flush it out IME.

Drink a pint of water. Then drink at least another half pint of water every 20 minutes. This is a lot of water.

You could also put bicarbonate of soda into the water every couple of hours, but frankly this is so revolting I used to just do the water thing.

No need to go to the GP unless it gets quite a lot worse and doesn't go away after a couple of days - pain, temperature, that kind of thing.

MincePirateCat · 15/12/2008 12:59

ok, will drink water now. then will pop to chemist later, and supermarket for cranberry juice.

can i add vodka tho ?

no need for GP - go to chemists and get those sachets of stuff - works really well.

notnowbernard · 15/12/2008 12:59

I always go to the GP but that's because IME the sachets don't work for me - I always need ABs

Some people don't need to

If you don't improve go to the GP, cystitis is horrible and makes you feel really ropey

bellaBuonNatalevita · 15/12/2008 13:01

I had cystitis once and it was flippin horrible. I cried every time I needed the loo.

Go to your gp and get it sorted straight away.
