Has anyones af been affected by this horrendous bug?

I'm waiting for af to arrive. Took my last pill on Tues which should have meant that I come on Fri/yesterday.
I've had the dreaded bug for 10 days and was wondering if that could have affected af?
If I'm still coughing my guts up tomorrow I might make an appt for the Dr and mention af.
Just a bit concerned I've not come on .

are you thinking you might be pregnant? don't think having a bug can stop your period. Not normally. I suppose if you are deathly ill, then it might send things haywire.

to answer your q - ds2 is ill atm. no idea if it's what you're on about - he's hot, listless, coughing a lot, off his food and generally miserable!

having a bug can effect how the pill works- have you been sick or had diarhhoea while you were still taking the pill? Unlikely that a coughing bug should have effected the pill though or when your AF is due. Maybe take a pregnancy test if AF not arrived in next couple of days. Good luck and hope you're feeling better soon.

i had it but can't help on the af side of things as i'm pregnant.

it is a fairly draining bug though so possible your body didn't ovulate when it should have and your cycle has slowed down a bit.

if you're concerned you might as well do a test... it's the first thing a doctor will do anyway if presented with a missing period.

sorry should be affect and affected not effect (I used to be so predantic about such things!)

Grublin · 14/12/2008 13:34

Thanks for replies.
It is a draining bug, little appetite, no D or V though
Perhaps I didn't ov as usual.
There really is no chance of pregnancy so that rules that out.

Grumblin please be aware also that if doc gives you anti-biotics that will effect pill too.

Grublin · 14/12/2008 14:37

Thanks Staffy, guess I'll see what happens.

I had a coughing bug thing, felt drained etc for about 2 weeks, not on the pill, but it seems to have knocked my cycle out by about a week (usually v regular and def not pregnant). AF dribbled on for 2 weeks...really odd.
