it folds over and when showering tonight I cleaned under and it is all red and sore looking! I will admit that I don't always clean deeply into belly button when showering.

I put some fucidin on it. Will it be okay?

Get some surgical spirit. Tomorrow, lie down and pour surgical spirit into it, have a bit of a wriggle around, then mop up with cotton wool. Side-benefits of this are that you can get a big audience for the video on YouTube...

(genuinely does work, though)

what is surgical spirit? Will chemist know? I'm in Ireland.

Yes, chemist should know. It's like rubbing alcohol (may in fact be rubbing alcohol).

I have a cheaper option which you can do now: just make a very strong salt solution, pour some on a piece of cotton wool and rub it all around.

You should probably not cover it with a plaster, either (but don't think this means you have to go naked!). It should start to improve within a couple of days if you repeat application of the salt solution at least 3 times daily.

My lovely mum was a nurse and swore by salt.

oh thanks! I will try that now.

and will get spirits tomorrow.
