Think I had a similar thing. I am on my last day of antibiotics too but have been able to taste things for the last 3 days. Wait a couple more days - the phlegm/snot thing is so gross and heavy, my head has only just started to feel clear after about 10 days and your system might just need a bit longer to clear itself.
Good luck with Xmas dinner!

Once your nose clears you will be able to taste a lot better. Hopefully not to long.

I remember this happening to me when I was pregnant with DS1 and was convinced my sense of taste was never going to come back. I don't remember exactly but it was several days. You will get better

thequietone · 13/12/2008 19:47

Oh god, I'm the same. It's the endless snot getting me down. I can't taste much and am panicking about Christmas Day. Come on, we can do it, let's kick this bug out in the next 7 days!

It's horrible. You have my sympathy.

It was my first pregnancy when this happened to me and I really convinced myself that the 2 must be linked and that I'd never taste anything again. I love my food so I was really upset. DH still takes the micky sometimes as I was so dramatic

You poor thing. Mine came back so I'm sure yours will soon.

According to DD, who is doing her annoying MN lurking thing, it took her 2 weeks from recovery for taste to come back completely.

try the neti pot and go back to your dr.

a bad taste for that long is still an infection

themulledmanneredjanitor · 13/12/2008 20:23

tell me about a neti pot
