I have quite a large varicose vein starting from my thigh spreading down my calf. I am going to have it fixed at some point but thinking of having another baby in next year or 2. When I was pg it was really painful and will probably get a lot worse with the next pregnancy. Aaaagh. What do I do??? I hate it!!!!

No advice, I'm a fraid. I have a huge one and went to see a specialist about it - he refused to do anything based on me being overweight. Well I am TTC number 2 now, so god knows what it'll get like!

I guess you must be going private? I have a small but prominent one on my calf, and gp said they wouldn't do anything about it until after I've had my last child.

yes i was going to go private. Not even tried GP yet, though it is so bad he MUST refer me!! This vein is putting me of getting pg and I really want another baby!

Why would they wait until you had had your last kiddie? Is it because it might come back again?

yesmynameisigglepiggle · 12/12/2008 14:46

yes i think they have a tendancy to come back??!

My GP told me that NHS won't 'do' veins unless they become ulcerated.....

Gosh that fills me with hope.
