What on earth is going on, I feel like I am going mouldy or something

So, a few days ago as I was drying myself after a bath, I rubbed the towel under my left arm and it was realy sore. I had a look and there was a pea sized red sore, like a burn. The skin looked like it weas just disintergrating.

I thought perhaps i'd nicked it with the razor or something and left it, but the next day it was bigger, redder and 10000X more sore.

Tuesday evening I decide to smoother it in canestan (didn't think it could hurt) and cover it up. At this point i noticed another bit of skin heading the same way and so smothered that too. The larger piece has now got alot better, is no longer sore at all and seems to be improving, but the little bit is still very red, although has got no bigger.

Today I have spotted another suspicious red mark on my stomach so that is now smothered too, but what the hell is it ??

I literally feel like I am falling apart.

I've had very sore red patches under my arms before but thats been due to clumsy shaving of armpits or using too blunt a blade (is it called razor burn or have I imagined that?). When you put deodorant on it stings like hell!

Although you say yours is on your stomach too, so unless you shave that I doubt if its the same thing

IllegallyBrunette · 11/12/2008 09:38

, don't worry, i think i can figure it out.

Oh well will try and get into the docs on Monday then.

Why oh why do these things occur when I just haven't got the time to deal with them ?

have you changed deodorants or anything like that?

ilove · 11/12/2008 09:41

Impetigo?

IllegallyBrunette · 11/12/2008 09:43

Am always changing deoderants but have been using the same one for weeks.

My mum suggested it was a yeast infection, hence me smothering it in canestan, and that did help a bit so maybe it is, but then why have I now got it on my stomach.

God this is such a sick house at the mo lol.

I first thought impetigo.

Could it be mere coincidence that Ds currently has a scalp infection ??

Right, I have been slathering the Canestan on liberally and the biggest sore has got loads better. The smaller one isn't now not so sore and showing no signs of getting any bigger.

I am assuming that since the Canestan appears to bne working then it must be a fungal infection ???

Do you trhink that taking that Canestan Once tablet would help, or does that only help your bits ??

Hi - I've had this problem too but usually under my boobs. It's thrush for me and under boobs / arms is classic place to get it (other than in your fanjo of course!) Yes it does respond to the Canestan once tablets - they will treat thrush anywhere. Classic mistake to make is to stop using the cream too soon. My doc said to keep using canestan on it for a week after the rash had completely disappeared otherwise it comes back. Also be careful to dry really carefully after shower. Sadly after a while I became allergic to canestan but then swithced to Napiers Seven Herb cream which seems to do good job too. HTH!
