I have had a terrible sore throat for 48 hours and a temp. Feel dreadful. Been looking after my 10.5 month old DS who is also ill...... Anyone else have this viral throat thing and can tell me how long it lasts for ?

After a temp of 104 (!) and a hospital stay my DS was given antibiotics too!

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 10/12/2008 22:06

me - am about to do a swopsies for dds tummy bug I fear.

pollywobbledoodle · 10/12/2008 22:16

off colour and queasy for a few days then sore throat and tender neck nodes and knackered for 4 days...starting to pick up now.....dd had it 1st and is on the mend

poor you, it's sh*te!

pollywobbledoodle · 10/12/2008 22:17

only bonus is not being able to eat much...stomach is flatter! (silver linings and all that...)

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 10/12/2008 22:45

Me too. Wondering whether it's turning into laryngitis, as my voice has gone

Haven't got a temperature, but throat hurts (well it's the back of my mouth/bottom of my nose more than my throat) and is very dry, coughing all the time is hurting my bump. Sinuses feel like I've been punched in the face. Ears ache. Neck aches. Nose is streaming. Head aches...

Amazed Tink doesn't have it and very glad as I am not up to hospital time!

mrsdisorganised · 10/12/2008 23:11

Me too! Have no sympathy either as DH is away at work Hope everyone feels better soon...Mummies aren't supposed to get ill...is what my delightful children tell me

FairyLightsForever · 10/12/2008 23:19

My DD 20 months went down with it at the weekend and she's still poorly. DS started going down with it on Monday and has finally agreed to stay off school today and it's finally got the better of me too. It's definately going to be a duvet day tomorrow

tumpymother · 11/12/2008 09:30

I might add that I probably didn't give DH quite enough sympathy when he had it so now he keeps smiling in a knowing way every time I complain. Although as I keep pointing out at least he could take some industrial strength pain killing do dahs and isn't getting up to feed 10.5 month old DC every 2 hours cos he is sick too !
enough ranting !
Hope you all feel better soon

How annoying for you Tumpy!

I hope people are starting to feel better now.

When I phoned in to let school know yesterday they said that the predominant bug is the sore throat one then the other one is the tummy bug. They are hitting the school pretty hard.

dd is right as rain this morning - hooray. Am keeping her off though as nobody would thank me sending her in too soon after a tummy bug. I still can't shake off the throat thing fully and feel queasy and not hungry. Weighed myself and I'm down to 7st 6. Thats ridiculous.
