Nothing! They just do this.

DS1's disappeared after about 6 months, ds2's have taken more like 18 months, and he had loads all over his torso, arms and legs, and he used to scratch them and they went yucky, and they really looked horrid. But there's nothing you can do, they do just go by themselves, quite suddenly. Honest!

That's really encouraging to know, thanks - dd can't stop scratching which starts them bleeding but she's had it for around 6 months now so hopefully will be like your ds1 !
