Asthma bad and chest hurting

Any of you lovely asthmatic people...do you ever get really painful (deep aching pain) sensations low in you rib cage. Asthma has been a bit rubbish for a week or so and I have been making some spectacular polyphonic wheezing esp in the morning and at night. But for the past few days my chest (though sometimes is hard to place is it ribs? back? stomach? all three?!) just aches and is actually painful to touch from outside too or on moving. Feel like I need to arch my back or adjust my position to relieve it, but then it's still there just as bad.

Does this sound familiar? Is it cause for concern? WHat should I do? Is it worth/necessary going to the Doctors or do I just double everything up and hang on in there?

...well you know really that as you are worried you should go see your doctor

I get pain as you described if my asthma is bad. If asthma has been bad for a week, should probably double dose the inhalers - I do this at the first sign of a cold affecting my asthma and it seems to help.
