Anyone had this weird stomach "stitch" type pain last for weeks?

I am getting mildly concerned by this but not enough to see my GP. Has anyone any idea what it could be? sounds familiar? should I be concerned or just let it go?

I have had this for about 2 weeks (since I had a mild virus that left me with no appetite, no vomiting but generally unwell - could be coincidence in timing too!)
On my left hand side, between the height of my rib cage and in line with my tummy button (classic stomach/intestines area I am guessing) I had had funny twingey pain. It comes and goes, it is not a sharp pain, more like a mild stitch, crampy thing. It is not specific as such and pressing on my stomach does not really locate it or hurt.

I am slightly overweight, diet is crap and I eat irregularly - trying to improve but life messes me around! Often late night meals, no breakfast, snacking on the wrong food etc. As a result (and sorry for the info) I have regular bowel movements but they swing from constipated to explosive (sorry, sorry) They always have swung wildly from one extreme to the other, no blood or anything, and just put that down to wildly varying diet.

So what on earth is this wierd non-painful twnigey constant pain I keep feeling? Should I jsut get my diet on track and see if it all calms down or should I be worried?

sorry for the rambling post, not sure what details are relevant or what is coincidental. Can give more info if it would help anyone out there advise me

I had this for about 2 weeks, but mine was higher up,just under the rib cage. It's gone now,but had me bothered for a while.

Sorry, that doesn't help much-I've no idea why it started or why it stopped, but it did.I hope someone more useful can help.
