My terrible peel-me-off-the-ceiling PMT, do reckon this will work...

I've suffered from pmt since i first started my periods, and have been on the pill for it since. The only prob is it affects my libido and makes me sexually numb! Me and DP have agreed that i should come off it, which i did 3 weeks ago. We don't want anymore DC, so take other precautions. But my mood swings & crying are back and worse than ever. Would it work if i took a pill everyother day? Not for contraception reasons, but to help my hormones but at same time keep my sex drive up. Would this work? Help!

I think if the pill effects your libido, then even taking it in smaller amounts would still have the same effect. I can't take the pill either, it just makes me feel totally flat, emotionally and sexually. I'd rather live with the highs and lows than that long term!

Have you tried any natural remedies? Evening primrose and starflower can work. The thing that works for me, however is changing my diet. It's not easy, but it's worth it for me. I've cut out sugar and eat as much natural unprocessed stuff as possible - tonnes of fruit, veg and salad. Cutting out the sugar is the main thing for me. This has helped me not only with PMT, but also just to feel so much better and healthier all round.

It just makes sense to me to try and cure something by changing diet and lifestyle first, rather than relying on synthetic hormones and chemicals. Don't underestimate how powerful a change in diet can be.

Take some Agnus Castus. Works a treat.
