Need some advice.
DS 2.1 is going into hospital on tuesday for tomsils and adenoids removing. He has chest problems including viral wheeze/asthma, persistant bronchitis,, and chronic obstructive sleep apnea.
Today he has started coughing is snotty and I'm sure wheezing will soon follow.
Now, If I take him to out of hours doc he will be prescribed 3 day course of prednisolone which may be just in time to prevent major wheezing episode, meaning has a chance of being well enough for op BUT only if they can still do anaesthetic on child taking prednisolone.
Any one know?

Hi, of course you can have an anaesthetic whatever treatment you are on, it is just that some of the drugs and techniques might have to be slightly altered to avoid problems. In your son's case the anaesthetist will see him beforehand and based on his chest, decide then whether it would be better to go ahead or for the operation to be postponed for a little while.
