I don't get morning sickness but I get eczema across my bump. Don't remember it kicking in this early last time but at 21 weeks it's already making me nuts. And it hasn't even exploded like it did towards the end of last pg. Just a few little pinpricks to look at - itch itch itch!

Iirc last time I was prescribed ... oh, bum, I can't remember what anything was called. Am currently stealing ds's epaderm which isn't making any difference.

Any suggestions?

Avoid anything containing sodium laurel (or laureth) sulphate in your shampoos/shower gels etc etc. It is in most things as is a foaming agent but very bad for eczema- you probably know this if your DS is using epaderm...
I found Doublebase quite good when my eczema flared up during my last pregnancy, but I think if it's really itchy you may have to use some form of mild hydrocortisone- best to speak to a pharmacist or GP. Otherwise try the usual things- only cotton next to your skin, moisturise the area at least 3 times a day etc.

Good luck x

I used this on ds when he was a newborn so it must be safe to use during pregnancy.www.wellbeing-uk.com/ItemInformation.aspx?ItemCode=E1009&jse=true

They sell it in the larger Boots but i used to get a prescription.

It really helped helped his eczema and cleared it up in no time.

I'm sure it is eczema and everything's fine but worth seeing your midwife and consultant and making sure it isn't obstetric cholestasis, I don't want to worry you but it's important to check it out. See here

ah yes that's right JJ - had diprobase last time which made not a jot of difference. Don't recall the hydrocortisone doing anything either but will try anything!

thanks nobodysfool, will see if I can get a scrip when I'm at doc's.

thanks edam, going to see the doc anyway but it's exactly the same as last time which was diagnosed as eczema. The skin on my bump will just get nastier and nastier - last time I ended up getting up every night to press it against bathroom tiles
