Anyone come across this before?? My DS has hypermobility, which makes him a bit more susceptable (sp?) to this but apparently anyone can get it.

His physio saw him this morning and recommended Calprofen 3 times a day, but so far it's made no difference.

Anyone??

hello, my dd6 has hypermobility, as do i. I have not heard of this. Although my dd has occasionally complained of her hips hurting. I thihnk she di when she was that sort of age, but really sporadically.

How did you go about getting the daignosis? Was he saying it hurt?

My dd has to see an orthopedic person soon, as she walks on the insides of her feet. I have her hip checked and gp say its fine, altho she wasborn with a clicky hip. Yet her gait is favouring the right hand side and her foot bends in slightly.

dd had this around same age, has he had a cold ? Took a few days of anti inflammatories to go .

Yes, he's had a cold recently, it's just clearing up - I've read that might bring it on. On the net it says it will require 3-4 days in hospital in traction so I'm hoping that's not going to be the case. LIZS - did you visit the doctor for anti-inflammatories or did Ibruprofen do the job?

Poor little chap has only just started walking properly a couple of months ago what with the hypermobility and now he can't walk again. And boy is he heavy!

just realsied that dd was complainign about her hips yesterday and she has ben of school this week with cold and asthma cough.

minko · 19/11/2008 19:09

From what I've read it tends to be one hip at a time. DS can hardly walk and it lasts about 2 weeks apparently. It comes on suddenly and disappears just as quickly.
