Sinusitis - advice?

I have had acute sinusitis for the last 2 weeks following a particularly nasty cold. Blocked nose, headache, toothache, the works. Sounds trivial but feels awful. Have tried steam inhalations and sudafed but it's not shifting. Have seen a bit of green gunk come out but feels like lots more up there! When should you go to GP? Feel as though 95% likely to be told it's viral so not sure what the point is? What worked for you?

Am very sinusy today too.

slim22 - found Sinupret in my meds box from last time I had sinus. Just started taking it this morning. Except just realised it is 3 months past use-by date! Will try and get more this afternoon.

I would definitely go to GP if you've had it for 2 weeks. In the meantime, I found this very soothing when I had sinusitis. It relieved a lot of the pressure and pain. Hope you feel better soon

OP - if the sinus thing has turned into a proper infection, antibiotics may help.

Otherwise - try all the good suggestions here. Plus the ones I always trot out - cut back on diary, red wine and berries!

Oh yes sinus massage very effective.

I get horrible headaches and chronic pain on the right side of my face and neck with my sinusitis (mainly right sinus).

I go to chinese Dr for ostheopaty/shiatsu. The relief is immediate.

I've had sinusitis for 7 weeks now. my sinus headaches have now turned into migraines which are unbearable. now on cocodomol and ibuprofen Tried everything from antibiotics. 2 nasal sprays. now on a steroid nasal spray and yesterday started on the Neil med nasal rinse. A lot of people say sinus rinse is very effective so Im praying this unblocks the blockage in my frontal sinuses. cant bear being doped up any longer.. caz
