Is this a bug or a side effect of late pregnancy?

I am nearly 37 weeks pregnant.

For the past three days I have had diarrhea quite badly. Everything goes straight through me. However, I do not really have any other symptoms of a bug. No fever. No vomiting. A few hot flushes that make me slightly nauseated but that is it.

So are thesquits down to the baby jumping on my intestines or is this a bug?

Are you seriously saying that none of you want to ponder the relationship between my bowels and my womb ?

I'd vote for late pregnancy -- I don't think it's uncommon.

Sometimes as labour is starting the bowels are more active and you can get diarrhoea.

some people do care!

I am sure this is not the start of labour. Its been going on for three days and I have no other signs of labour.

It is quite unpleasant and its starting to get me down .

how are you now artichokes? would it be worth seeking medical advice or ringing NHS help line thingy?

SquidgyBrain · 17/11/2008 21:52

artichokes - just be careful, as your bowels being irritated can kick of labour - which is why cod liver oil ect works - althouhg of course at 37 wks it isnt really an issue!

It does sound more like a bug to be honest, make sure you get plenty fluids into yourself and keep yourself hydrated, and get thoose feet up if you can!

Hoping it all settles down soon, and that things go well when it is time for you to meet your little person
