well just in the leftone atm. it comes on like a surge/contraction, starting at wrist then right thru to fingers.

makes me go 'owwwwwwwwwoooowwwwwwweeeee' loudly. reumatism?

carpel tunnel syndrome maybe?

I have had a problem with my wrist for ages now - comes and goes and feels like its sprained, hurts like crazy but not all the time. My gp uselessly suggested I take ibruprofen - I went out and bought a wrist support thingy instead

piratecat · 13/11/2008 16:01

hm might be. the pain is quite 'arghhhhhhhhhhhhh' and makes me swear, then it goes again.

i have an ankle support in the first aid box ?

Is it after you've had cold hands? I get cramp in my fingers that goes to my wrist.

piratecat · 13/11/2008 16:26

no it's not from cold. it olny started suddenly today.

the pain is bit like when you bang you elbow!! like omg omg, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Another 'vote' for carpel tunnel here. That's exactly what mine does and boy is it painful! Do you get any pain higher up too? Mine sometimes seems to start in my armpit (lovely!)

piratecat · 13/11/2008 16:27

erm what i mean is i haven't been in the cold today! iyswim

ouch in your armpit. why carpel tunnel i wonder? i thought that was like from repetitive strain type thing.

will be back later.

Who know?! Mine comes on for no apparent reason at all - it really dislikes me reading in bed and i feel like my finger tips are building up so much pressure that they will explode! It's very odd indeed!

Yurtgirl · 13/11/2008 21:58

It sounds like carpel tunnel to me - I had it when pregnant with both of mine, not that I am insinuating you are preggers

It does feel as edward and piratecat describe though - I think it is to do with poor circulation?

piratecat · 13/11/2008 22:00

i would love it to be cos i was pg yurt. no chance tho!!

If it is that I dont think there is much of a cure apart from wriggling your fingers - I could be wrong

In my case I found giving birth helped
